I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?
Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!
When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?
You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.
I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?
The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

I want to buy a new but affordable phone to DeGoogle it, which one should I get?
We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉
I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?
No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).
How long is section 3?
Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.
How much time do I save?

Een doordachte mobielgebruiker
Mooie telefoon jongens! Maar daar kwam ik pas achter toen ik anderhalve week na de ontvangst de doos uitpakte en de telefoon goed bekeek. Omdat ze vlak voor de kerstdagen is geleverd, had ik het veel te druk om er voor te gaan zitten. Ik heb nu meer tijd maar nog doe ik het stap voor stap. Ik ben nog bezig met de uitleg door te nemen en wil niets overhaast doen. Ik gebruik dus nog mijn “oude” mobiel, terwijl ik de Snowden Phone verken en klaarmaak voor uiteindelijk gebruik. Ik ben erg te spreken over de gebruikersvriendelijk van de telefoon en de duidelijke (video) uitleg. Eerst de PPP goed doornemen en dan op naar een tablet.
Het gaat goed komen.

Ervaring Snowden phone
Mijn ervaring met de telefoon is na twee maanden gematigd positief.
Ik had een andere privacy-vriendelijke telefoon, maar die beviel helemaal niet. Het werkte allemaal erg moeizaam.
Deze Snowden telefoon werkt veel beter!
Voor een paas apps kostte het wat moeite om ze aan de praat te krijgen en ik moet nog erg wennen aan het gebruik van de apps op de twee verschillende plaatsen.
Ik merk dat Vanadium zo goed als alles blokkeert, erg jammer. Ik doe nu bijna alles met Brave.
Helaas zijn er een paar apps die helemaal niet werken, ook als ik alle beveiligingen uitzet. Geen idee hoe ik dat moet oplossen.
Het is goed te merken dat sommige ¨mainstream” apps gemakkelijk te vervangen zijn door alternatieve apps.

Top telefoon
Ik ben erg blij met mijn Snowdenphone. Moest best even wennen in het begin, maar er is veel informatie beschikbaar via de portal met filmpjes en gebruiksaanwijzingen. De ondersteuning is verder ook top,vragen worden snel en kundig beantwoord. Een absolute aanrader de Snowden phone van proprivacy.io!

zeer duidelijk
Alles dat wordt uitgelegd in deze cursus is zeer duidelijk verteld. Op het punt van uitleg edge wallet mag meer verduidelijkt worden. Hoe sla je iets op bv, wat is een passwordmanager en waar vind je die en hoe werkt het??

Enige toelichting , uitleg ,en zelfs installeren VPN. Op m’n snowdenphone.
Ik vond het echt goed , super.
Gelijk ook nog een tablet besteld, prettig werken / filmpjes kijken.
Wel in het algemeen heeft de smartphone een veel te grote impact ( verslavend) minder gebruik geeft mij meer vrijheid !!! ( en privacy😉)
